Purpose in Life

Personal fullfilment and happiness are two things all men and women long for. Many Christian people today will say that it was a longing for fulfillment that brought them to faith in Jesus Christ. It was their attraction to and acceptance of his offer of joy and peace that brought them to a major turning point in their own lives.
Yet one of the more startling and sometimes painful discoveries of the new Christian life is that simply accepting Jesus as savior does not answer every human longing. Many Christians, though not all, eventually awake to the realization that salvation in Christ is not the end of one’s personal fulfillment, but merely the beginning.
After we come to Christ, there are still questions to be answered and problems to be solved. “What is God’s purpose for my life?” , “What does God want me to do?”, “What is his will for me?” , “Where Am I going?”. Such questions can produced frustrations as we struggle to reach for something more. The desires that need to be fulfill. Leading a good life is not enough.. Merely attending to the church does not satisfy us.
As a seminarian, I was determined to follow Christ and obey his word. Even so, I began to realized that something was missing in my life and in the lives of those I pastored. But it took years before I really began to understand that God had a purpose for my life.
Through long and often painful years of experience. I’ve learned that everything we face, evey problems and challenges, have value and significance if we know the purpose of God. Our life must take on a positive direction. God’s will becomes evident. And we share in joy of knowing that our life is pleasing to God. What we need to do is to continue searching for our self and knew the purpose of why you are here.
