“There we shall rest and see, we shall see and love, we shall love and praise. Behold what will be at the end without end. For what other end do we have, if not to reach the kingdom which has no end.”

Most Rev. Miguel Cinches SVD, D.D
Emeritus of Surigao
May the Good Shepherd, shepherd you all the way. For the great gift of perseverance is my ardent prayer for you. Never to forget: that you are the future of the clergy of our beloved Diocese of Surigao. The clergy and faithful pin their hopes on you.
Msgr. Prescilo P. Iral, DCS, V.G
God was with us! It was His guiding hand that led us all the way. “If the Lord does not build the house, in vain is your rising so early and your going late to bed at night.” How true is this song of the Psalmist?
“Que vadis?” (Where are you going?) Well it is all up to you to answer to the Lord of the harvest!

Fr. Eliezer N. Mantilla
Rector / Procurator
I assure you of my of my humble prayers that the Spirit of the Lord will be with you each day, “forming and transforming” you after the heart and mind of Christ, the Good Shepherd. Remember that the fruit of your faith is always found in your behavior. Your actions will always give away the secrets of your heart. May Mary, the Mother of priests and Seminarians help us remain ever faithful disciples of her son Jesus Christ, the eternal High Priest.

Fr. Laureano L. Espuerta, Jr., DCS

The journey is still very long and you have to pass through the narrow and winding road; but you will endure and persevere amidst human frailties if you make God your constant companion and guide. Persevere is your vocation. Hold it in great esteem and cultivate it.
Fr. Renato B. Mantilla, DCS
Spiritual Director
You must be patient in all kinds of trials, in all the small inconveniences you meet with daily, patient at the time you feel discouraged, patient with yourselves when you make mistakes or feel the slowness of your spiritual progress, patient with others who give you trouble. You must avoid complaints and find inspiration in the example of our Lord’s patience during His passion.

Seminary is always a place of FORMATION and TRANSFORMATION. Formation because you yourselves are being formed in the seminary into likeness of Jesus-Christ, our High Priest. From your varied family backgrounds and up-bringings, from different schools you were in and from different friends you were related to - you are formed here in the seminary through the guidance of your formators so that you will have a common vision and mission in life, that is, to-be-Priests of Jesus. So, you have to be always open and submissive to formation.
Transformation because from your human imperfections, after being formed, you are to transcend you vision-mission in life and be at the service now of the church here in the Diocese of Surigao. From being self-centered before, you are now Christ and Other-centered individuals. So, you are now men of God and of the Church.
May the Lord of the harvest shower you the grace you need everyday in your seminary life and for another year of good harvest.
